Anyone use regular old washing soda by itself for anything? I was thinking of using messing around with it an seeing how well it work with cip cleaning because man it’s cheap.

Many do, but it may not be their intention. "Washind Soda" is what you're left with after the "per" is gone from sodium percarbonate (about 2-3 hours once in solution). Cleans okay (alkaline cleaner) but has no "active" component to help scrub things. If your CIP washer is powerful enough to blast loosened muck off, I guess it'll do the job. But Percarbonate is cheap too (in generic sacks).
