A buddy of mine was all upset last week when a shark decided to take half of one of his fish.

I told him to quit bitchin...ten percent is a fair tribute to pay. :D

He should be grateful that the shark didn't decide to take half of something else.
Damn...never thought of that. Now I'll never be able to take a leak in the water again. :(

Worse than that happened to me when I was 16 yrs. old. I was wade fishing in the surf. Had a really nice stringer of speckeled trout tied around my waste. I felt this tug on my stringer and I jerked back because it was tightening around my waste. Well this 5' shark decides he wants my fish more than me and grabs ahold. When I pulled back he starts spinning and wraps up in my stringer. I got loose from the stringer and out of the water looking like Buckwheat in the haunted house. It took me a while before I could wade the surf again.

Looking back tho...it's a real rush when that happens, isn't it. I mean, after you clean your pants out and all. :)

Yes little sand shark (Atlantic Sharpnose) are tame creatures compared to the black tip and bull sharks that take our stringers down here.
