Getting ready to start my Keezer build, and plan on making the front and sides of the freezer a chalkboard surface. Luckily, the freezer skin is not textured, so I don't have to worry about working over the surface with glazing putty to smooth things out.

My plan is/was sanding down the entire surface, cleaning with wax and grease remover, priming and painting with chalkboard paint. Not to big of a deal, but still a process that requires quite a bit of attention to detail to get good results.

Then I stumbled on adhesive vinyl chalkboard film. This is an attractive solution to me as it does not require that I permanently modify the freezer in any way.

A couple of examples (just the first few I found):

Anyone have any experience with this? How much do you think the vinyl film will impede the heat transfer through the skin of the freezer? Or will it be any worse than chalkboard paint?

Multiple amazon reviews stated they used it on chest freezers so it should work. I'm definitely picking some up now since my chalk paint is already scratching, thanks for introducing me to this stuff!
