Did you here the latest? Apparently Eddie is ready to go on tour!

Vote here if you would be willing to (first ) go at lawn seats $20- ???
Or spend $35-60 EACH to the boys up-close

Yeah right. With all the geriatrics buying tickets for the bands they didn't see in their youth, I'd be astonished if a guy could even get into the venue during a Van Halen concert for under $75. :(

Uh, when they had Dave is when they WERE lame, and by the way, he's touring with them.

I disagree - they were more popular with Sammy, but cooler with Dave. I misread and voted wrong. I'd go see Dave.

They've all proven what asshats they are many times over. They were a kickass band, esp. with DLR, but at this point I couldn't care less. They can FOAD. ;)

Sad but true. :(

I used to really like their old stuff, and you gotta give props to Eddie for his madd tapping skillz, but they should die.

Saw em' with Dave, saw em' with Sammy. Only thing I'll be handing over 35 to 60 bills for these days is for brew.

(did you know that the board edits the word f o r k i n g? )

Ok, I saw the Sammy version twice. It was awesome. I've never seen Diamond Dave, and from what I've heard (Eddie's son is billed to play bass), it is still [to be determined].

That being said...ARE YOU KIDDING? VAN HALEN IN CONCERT...

I'm 40 friggin' years old, and I would BITE/SCRATH/KICK my way to the front if Diamond Dave was on the bill:

Mean Street
Hot For Teacher
And the Cradle Will Rock
You're No Good

hmmm.

go to a club...pay $5/10 to get in ...

go to a comedy club..pay $25/ then 2 drink minimum...it's all the same.

Then the Q is: would you/ wouldn't you see Van Halen?

Picture, if you will...

I pimply teen age boy
Just got his license
cruising [Van Halen]
McDonalds girl said I am cute
Cruising [Van Halen]
pick up game of basketball
Idle [Van Halenn]
Drive around the county [Van Halen]
...
What are you waiting for?

Van halen kicked ass and as soon as they got rid of Dave I considered the band dead. Sammy was a joke and the ****** they brought in after him was an even bigger joke.

Dont even get me going how they were the beginning of the end of heavy metal in the 80's

to little too late

Gary Cherone wasn't it? Extreme's first album was average. Second was average as well.

I've only been to one concert in my life, the Eagles about two years ago and those dudes still kicked AS#. If I could hit up some of the 80's bands that were still playing and they played with the same enthusiam as some nearly 60yr old guys I'd be there.

Ive ignored them many times when they have come around, but with Diamond Dave, I would love it! Hopefully, New England would be about a month into the tour, after they work out the bugs, and before the meltdown!!

Early Van Halen Ruled!! now how many people knew someone with the VH wings for a tattoo (or was it you)? how many do overs do you think were wished for after they sent DLR packin:p

Van Halen is more annoying today than they were when they were relevant. Same goes for Van Haggar.

I haven't been to a concert in years. Wanted to get tix to see Billy Joel, but they're $100 each. Tix for The Who start at $240 each (pre Ticketbastard markups).

If VH isn't too expensive, I'll go. I personally have great memories of DLR and Haggar the Horrible songs.

I've seen Aerosmith several times in the last 5-6 years (they're SWMBO's favorite band) and they put on a much better show than a lot of the younger bands do. Same thing with AC/DC. Some of the old guys still rock!
On the other hand I agree comepletely about the Stones. Guess it just depends on who you like.
