using a stout tap as a regular tap

can my stout tap do double duty as a regular co2 tap if i remove the little restrictor plate thingy with the pinholes in it ?

You might try the stout tap with other types. Dry IPA's taste really nice on a stout tap.

Yes. With the restrictor plate and flow straightener removed, it'll pour a straight CO2 beer no problem.
