Unused Lactose

I recently bought a cream stout kit that contains 1 lb of lactose however the recipe only calls for 8 Oz. Can I store the unused lactose for later use? Do I freeze it or just keep it airtight?

Just keep it in a zip lock bag and it will have a long shelf life.
