Back Story: A friend was out on a venture on a hop yard. While he was driving home he came accross a pile of freahly chopped hops that must have fallen off a truck. So he decided to rescue these poor hops from there demise. He made up some decent size ziplock bags and gave me one. We have no idea what the type or AA. So see the below recipe and let me know any thoughts.
Grains:
8lbs 2row (us)
12oz Crystal 80L
8oz Rye Malt
4oz Cara Pils
3oz Roasted Barley
Hops:
Unknown but scheduled measured by handfuls 60, 20, 10, 5, 0
Yeast:
WLP002 British Ale (Starter Used)
Other:
1Tbsp Irish Moss 60min
Mash at 156F 60min, fly sparge, boil 60 with moss and hop at schedule times, cool, hydrometer readings, pitch. Primary 7 days, Secondary 7 days,
Force Carb in Keg.
Do you think the hop additions are too much? I'm just trying to use up these unknown hops.
