Hoping for some insight on my latest brew. Having completed my step mash (for recipe sake) I went on to the boil (90 min). By the time all was said and done I ended up with an additional 2.5 litres, which left the wort at 1.032 instead of the intended 1.043.
Now during the mash I added roughly 1 litre of cold water (for temp adjustment), which I didn't really account for in the boil. That doesn't cover the extra 1.5l though
My question being, this is my first brew since getting a grain mill and a new 210 micron bag (my old bag not being particularly drain friendly). With the calculator I usually use accurate, could a finer crush and better filtering bag result in less grain absorption that transferred to the boil?
