I transplanted a Cascade rhizome from a 9yr location to a new residence. The bine shot up and has grown well with lengthy side-arms. There was an initial, but small burr flowering that produced some large cones - then a few weeks later, a much more significant flowering. The cones from the second flowering are producing much smaller cones, though - about the size of marbles at best. Anyone seen this before and experience of their usability?

Miracle grow once a week and some manure here and there.

The plant might just be getting acclimated. That sounds like the flowers of my 1st year plants. That or it's flowering late and the cones will grow bigger later in the season.

I think you're right - the cones seem to be growing a little more in size. It was odd because the first cones were BIG - but only a few, and darker green. Then this second flowering has been significant with smaller cones and light green. I'm in SE Pa so I don't expect them to be mature for a few more week.
REALLY appreciate the feedback.

How'd it go? Did your cones end up growing more, or did they finish up small?

I ended up getting a wide range - a lot of the first growth cones got large, but second wave ripened pretty small. I'm waiting on the 3rd set to either ripen or grow.

The nice thing about growing your own hops is you can pick them when you want (and/or as they mature).

They turned out pretty well, actually - mostly medium sized. I harvested them all at once for a wet-hop IPA over the weekend. I got a total of about 12oz at picking which was just enough for the aroma and flame-out addition.

Wet-hop IPA turned out great - this year's crop of Cascades were very piney with lots of resin - not as much on the citrus, but it added loads of flavor.
