what size tubing do i need for a blowoff preventer to be used with the three piece airlock?

I typically use the same tubing I use for my auto siphon. I think it's 3/16.

being as though its just the blowoff preventer does it still need to be food grade tube or not?

I just get the stuff from Home Depot, been working fine for years

i use 1/4" as it was what i had lying around. No need for food grade, beer won't be touching it.

1/2" ID will fit a 3 piece airlock stem. I assume this is what OP means. You can pick it up at the hardware store. No need for food grade.
