So after deciding my tap water is not good for brewing I found a new source.
I am looking at doing up what I would consider to a be an "American Oatmeal Brown Ale" and trying to figure out if my new water source will work well and what additions I may need.
So I figured I would post here, and go dig out my books and do some more reading.
Any input is appreciated.

Here is the Grain bill:
8# Pale Ale Malt
2# Aromatic
0.75# Medium Crystal
0.75# Belgian Special B
0.75# golden oats
0.25# Chocolate Malt

And here is my water profile:

PH 6.3
Calcium (Ca) 15
Magnesium (Mg) 5.5
Sodium (Na) 6.3
Sulfate (SO4) 8.3
Chloride (Cl) 20
Bicarbonate (HCO3) 27

Potassium (K) 0.7
Iron (Fe) 0.0
Carbonate (CO3) 0.0
Nitrate (NO3) 4.7
Nitrite (NO2) 0.0
Fluoride (F) 0.0
Alkalinity as CaCO3 22

Electrical Conductivity 160
Est Total Dissolved Solids 120
Total Hardness 60

I am thinking I may need to add the following:
0.50 grams/gallon of Gypsum to increase Calcium and Sulfate
0.15 grams/gallon of Calcium Chloride to increase Calcium and Chloride

A least if I am using BrunWater correctly it looks like that, but heck I might be looking at it all wrong.

I am thinking the PH should be fine at 6.3, as it should calculate out at 5.4.

Let me know of any thoughts you may have.

Thanks

That is a fine water for a starting point and the mineral additions create a modest mineralization. As long as the pH will be in range, that sounds like a plan.

Be careful with the Special B. A little is nice, but it can be overdone.
