A while back I picked up a 1 gallon extract kit for a Cream Ale just out of curiosity and to see if it was something I would like to make a 5 gallon batch of. It has sat on the shelf until a couple weeks ago when I tried a Huckleberry Cream Ale at a beer tasting event. A light bulb went off when I pictured the bag of frozen huckleberries I had in the freezer and that kit still in the box.

So I brewed the beer today with the plan of adding the huckleberries in some capacity to the secondary. So I am looking for suggestions from anyone who may have tried a similar beer. Should I make a puree to add and if so, how much would you recommend for a gallon batch? Or should I just add some whole berries to the secondary and let it sit for a bit?

Thanks in advance!
