I just bought the catalyst fermentation system and my beer has been fermenting for 5 days now. This is my first experience with a conical fermenter. I've already dumped a jar full of trub, but what was stuck to the side didn't drop back down after I replaced it. It's been a few days since. Will it drop eventually?

tough to say. I have a similar issue sometimes with my fermentasaurus conical. Usually it will drop, but other times it has not. I will sometimes open and close the valve repeatedly for like 30 seconds to try and break up the bottom of the cone and it does work sometimes to loosen it enough to drop.

That's a good idea, I'll try that if it becomes necessary. When it didnt drop for you, did you have to rack to a bottling bucket, or do it straight from the fermentasaurus? Or do you keg in your fermenter?

I transfer from the top. I have the pressure kit which has a flexible dip tube connected to a floating ball so it draws beer from the top. Cant imagine every having to try it straight out of the bottom, even with removing trub i still end up with 1/4-1/2 gallon of crap at the bottom.

This is the issue with many plastic or shallow conical bottom fermenters (and this appears to be both) the yeast sticks to the plastic more it seems. I had the same issue with my V vessel (later became fast ferment with changes) I would gently shake mine up a bit to help it drop...

Thank you both for the suggestions. I opened and closed the valve a few times and gently rocked it and after a day it all settled out.
