I had some tonight.

ok, I had alot tonight haha.

its a damn fine beer.

its hard to taste the 11% alcohol. I found it out the hard way haha. A 6 pack is MORE than enough.

any of you guys ever had it? what do you think of it?

EDIT: I spelled the name of the beer wrong haha. Troegs

It's definately a great beer. I live about 30 minutes from the brewery and it can be hard to find around here.

Gets ya messed up. My friend got a pony keg of it last year. I woke up in the hallway of his apartment complex and had no Idea where I was or how I got there.

If you're in the philly region, Capones in Norristown is pouring 2007 Mad Elf...it's really tasty with a little bit of age under its belt.

That's interesting. I hadn't thought about saving any the last time I bought a case. How does it compare with the fresher version?

The Mad Elf is a good beer, not my favorite though. I remember it being a little thin. It's pretty well executed for what it is, but lacked complexity I thought.

We did a back to back with the 1 year old '06 and a fresh '07 last year and I think the flavor mellows out a bit and as a result, gains a bit more depth. It really blooms in the glass.

I'll prob pick up a bomber of it for xmas dinner.

P.S. the brewery has a brewpub license now, and can sell take out.
