So I have just been informed that I will have to travel back to my hometown weeks earlier than I originally planned (three to be exact). My brew is in primary fermentation right now (started last Friday), and is a one gallon batch. I have to leave August 5th.. this means it will have only been fermenting for a month..

Should I rack it into another carboy, airlock it, and drive with it as is?
Should I rack it into another carboy and cap it for the drive?
I am a little stressed right now, to say the least, but I'm trying to figure this out asap.

Thanks for any input!

p.s. it's a 5 hr car drive if that has anything to do with it

I'd degas it, so it doesn't spew if it gets a bit shook up, and put an airlock on it. Wrap it in big bubble wrap & put it in a cooler with a little ice; not enough to cold crash it, just enough to keep it from overheating during transport. That's my 2 cents worth. Good luck. Regards, GF.
