I am going to transplant two rhizomes from containers to the ground. One is a year old chinook the other is a 2nd year fuggle. Should I do it when they go dormant or when I would plant a new rhizome?

Get a few planting spots worked up and then once the vines die back you're good to replant them. You'll probably surprised to see what those rhizomes have turned into by now. Hop On!!
