Looking for a pump to transfer water from my brew pot to hot liquor tank only. Anything available at the local hardware store for this or has March cornered the market?

You need something food grade that can handle the temperature. March has a pretty solid hold on the market, but there's other possibilities out there. The problem is that as soon as you specify "food grade", your options are cut dramatically, and when you specify high temp, they're cut dramatically again.

Brolan, I would consider asking your LHBS if they know of options in your area. You can also ask at a Hardware store, but unless you find someone who knows about pumps, you're probably SOL there . . . Fact is, as MPCluever noted, March is the most well known brand when it comes to food grade, high temperature pumps. All of my friends who pump use their pumps.

I just picked up a March pump. I did a lot of research. It seemed like the best choice to me.

I looked at Chugger pumps as well, but I saw some questionable reviews, so I passed on them (at least for now).

There were some other options, but it didn't seem like they were really created for this application. It was difficult to get information on temp ratings, performance, and the materials used in the pump. it just wasn't freely available. I always felt like I'd be taking a chance with another purchase.

March seems to be the preferred choice for homebrewers. It's a little pricey, but I'm comfortable with my choice. We'll see how it works out down the road.

Anyone who has questions on any of the Chugger Pumps feel free to call here anytime day or night we are always here to help. It is a quality product and once you buy one you will always have our support!
