The best part about getting beer in the mail this time of year is they show up cold. I'll be getting into a couple of these while I work this afternoon.

Nope, i had to fly to Hartford this week. Wasn't any beer I wanted to bring home from there though. Next week should be a good haul from the West Coast.

Anyone else have problems explaining to SWMBO why they spent $120 on beer they have no intention of drinking?

Yeah, she doesn't care, but I get funny looks when i tell her 'I'm not sure if they are good or not, I'm just buying them for people who asked'. Then she asks why don't I buy one for myself. That's when the $$ comes up and she just rolls her eyes. Maybe not a saint yet, but in line to be canonized.

Never had to explain spending, but once in awhile she says something like "Why do you get beer from other people when you buy beer every week". She still hasn't even mentioned the $800 for Hoarders.

No I got one of those, it's not the money, it's the buying 'beer' to ship around the country that she doesn't understand. More of a 'Can't they just buy something where they live?'. To her, all beer is created equal, and anything other than AB product is just weird.

Not really a trade but I wanted to brew a global warmer clone and based on the label came up with a recipe. Sent a pm to the sixpoint guy on BA and he was surprised how close I was and gave me a few pointers. They had me come in today and do a side by side.

Overall pretty awesome experience and it turns out the original guy I emailed with was Shane, the founder. Here's what they gave me after we tried a few things there and hung out for a bit.
