Hmm... Why is my spidey sense tingling?

I think I'll hold onto it for now. ;)

You're definitely going to wish you had more than just one. I got two in a trade and I'm afraid I'll be too sad when I drink the last one.

Wondering what the prices would be.......

After I find out which beer it was I plan to send him another. I think I'll bag this one. Though he said there were thousands of pieces, kinda sounds like it blew up, a bag might not hold that sort of explosion

I'd say at least it was just homebrew, but my barrel aged farmhouse ale is a pretty cool beer

I've started individually bagging beers. Especially when I send them to Clint. :(

^^this. Get some 1 gallon zip lock bags, then bubble wrap them over the bag. For 750's I was using some massive heavy duty ziplock bags from when I was ordering from Brewmaster's Warehouse. I did make us some ridiculous boxes with a full 1/2" honeycomb cardboard liner. Those things were tanks! Cost a fortune to ship them though.

I'm also anal and wrap and bag everything. And I still haven't had all my beers survive. Of course I still think UPS hire gorillas to handle the packages...

Without seeing it or knowing if it was my farmhouse ale or the wit i'm unsure if it was because of the gorillas or because it was a highly carbed beer with the pressure differential on the plane ride there affecting it. But yeah, I will definitely do everything in my power next time as I have been sending some pretty pricey stuff out. (25 dollar 350mls of wild beers etc)

For some reason I read it like that at first. Wasn't sure what anal wrap was. :p

I have actually had good success so far. Nothing I have sent out, beer or glassware, has broken. I try to go a little overboard on the bubble wrap and packing materials. Maybe FedEx doesn't hire the same kind of gorillas that UPS does. ;)

Careful ... you're showing how your mind works ;)

I do think FedEx respects the package better - and they're cheaper so win-win!

My mind? You're the one who typed something that I misread as being dirty! ;)

Yeah, they've always been cheaper every time I compared prices so I just stick with FedEx.

Was the yeast still cool when you got it? That's the first time I've shipped it like that.

FWIW I was listening to brew strong earlier. I've always thrown yeast straight in the fridge when it shows up warm, but you want to avoid dramatic temperature shifts as it causes the yeast to throw off temperature shock proteins or some such.

Another awesome trade with my wonderful wife in the background. Thanks to TheMan once again
