She sent me Opuntia in the sour swap and made me jealous that I don't get any of the great Avery stuff, just things like Maharaja that will never leave the shelves.

I like maharaja. Every year i grab one or two when its released. The demon series sits here. Rarely find others. 2 years ago found uncle jacobs sitting on the shelves now it is a ghost befor it hits the shelve. I love the barrel age stuff from avery. Look on the bench

I realize I just made maharaja sound bad. It is good fresh, but they send out so much all at once, dank near every place that has it around here has been sitting on the same bottles for months and months. And I think it's a quick fading IPA to be consumed fresh.

Yep. I still see it here. I pick up a few in january and thats it. Rest of the year i dont because i know its old.

Did a in person trade with finsfan today at crooked stave. He dropped a 2008 Beast on me. Along with several other goodies. The growler will soon be making an appearance in the alchy thread.

I rode the trusty old beer mule 276 miles for a little beer run in Gainesville today. Swamp Head Batch 600, 5 aged in oak barrels with Brett, and 2 aged in bourbon barrels. They pulled the Mondavi wine barrel aged at the last minute, that had a bottle limit of 5, that has to hurt a little brewery like this.

It's the latest version of their Elusive Reclusive series, I imagine it will be like a barrel aged version of Saison Du Swamp, which was incredible.

So crazy timing... I am vacationing in Gainesville from Ohio. Special release like only today or will tomorrow be fine to find it?

They might have some of the Brett left, but there was only 10-15 cases of the bourbon left when I got mine. It's a really tiny little brewery, but they do put out some great beer. Definitely check them out while you are here

Pick up a couple bottles of Smoke Signal, if they have any left. It took gold at World Beer Cup this year in its category.

I had not seen what the taster looked like until now and I really like it too. When I was there drinking samples Saturday they poured them in blank glasses so people didnt steal them. This is the first I am seeing it haha.
