I have read a great deal on the issues with the 23 Jet burner, but I cannot find any information on this particular burner:

I have a 1 1/2" gas distribution pipe inside my house, with a 3/4" stub to the brew area. I intended on running 3/4" pipe on my rack with 1/2" tee's to the burners. I am trying to decide between the burner listed above, and this 10 tip burner:

Does anybody have any experience withe th 16 jet with cover burner? I think the pilot and cover make this and interesting choice, as it would definetly help with wind and flame direction.

Thanks

I pretty much hate the multi jet burners altogether so I can't recommend either one. I think you'll be a lot happier with something like the Hurricane with its adjustable air intake.

Bobby have you replaced you jet burners altogether, if so what burners are currently on your rig?

I was thinking of those Banjo14 burners from Agri supply. if I can use it for NG and LP that would be the hot ticket.

now I think you can get an orifice adapters to use this with NG.

I still have the multijets on my rig but it doesn't mean I like them ;-) Granted, they get me through a brew day but they are frustrating. Since those banjo 14s are meant to be used with high pressure propane, the conversion to NG is just drilling the stock orifice out to a slightly larger hole to let more low pressure NG through.

+1 The multi-jet wok burners suck big time. The main problem with them is that you cannot adjust the air/fuel ratio. They are designed to run wide open throttle and they burn dirty at lower flame levels. If you like a lot of soot, you'll love the wok burners.

Soot has been my biggest problem with my 23 jet burner. I've tried several configurations and haven't been able to get it to burn clean since it's inaugural brewday.

I'm going to be ordering a replacement today. Either a banjo or hurricane.

I guess you can drill out the Banjo and if needed to be used with Propane put a regulator on it correct?

reason being is right now I have a NG setup at my place in Az, but if I should move to Texas later in the year who knows if I'll have NG or Propane and I'd like to use the same burners. I bought the jet burner and it has worked well for my first brew, but I'd like to pick up a couple more burners and the Banjo's come highly recommended.

also when the LHBS does the parking lot brew days I'd be able to bring my setup and brew along using propane bottle.
