"As long as the stuff fits in the garage and I can park in the garage, I don't care what you do."

That's all the wife needed to say when I mentioned turning our 8x10 tool shed into a homebrewing shed. Luckily, I had all the materials around the house and took 2 days off of work to help kick the project into high gear. Added a light source and will be adding electrical outlets in the spring (have to wait for the ground to thaw as PA is cold right now)!!

Anyone else turn their shed into their homebrew headquarters?

I have basically a one-car garage as my workshop/brew house. You'll love it.

But don't forget ventilation.

that'll be some sweet digs! What kind of setup are you putting in there? 3 tier propane? electric, pumps? Need to get off my duff and build me a setup then get on a brew space like that.

Can you brew with gas (LP or NG) inside a shed/garage? I use to use LP inside my garage for my early brews and was always scared that either the house will blow up or I'd pass out from the fumes. Sweet setup, wish I had something like that.

Right now I'm just brewing extract (while constructing a mash tun). I've only started brewing in October 2014 and have already brewed 3 extract kits. I think I got the hang of it and want to move onto the real deal!

I would be careful with brewing in an enclosed space without the proper ventilation. I've brewed in my garage w/ the door closed and by the end of the brew it was hot, sticky, and I was a bit lightheaded (and that wasn't from drinking).

For this set up, I'm going to have the doors open and the window in the back opened as well. The heat from the burner should keep the shed warm enough in the winter months.
