is it too late in the season to find some hops rhizomes now ? or better yet plants ?

Not if you can find people close with a plant .

Those are two cuttings from my Cascade that is in the ground. I'd bet you have hops growing around you that you could get a rooted bine cutting from. May not be a big plant after this year, but next year it should have quite the root system.
