Stupid wing capper. Most of the bottles (including the one that broke) are Sam Adams.

Guess it's time for a SuperAgata bench capper. I've read favorable things about it here (unless you tell me otherwise).

my wing capper did that to me too. It was a stubby bottle, first use. snapped about 1cm from the top. the top stuck, so I put a hole in it and made it a keychain. a memory of my first broken bottle.

Hmm. That's a bummer.

I've noticed for the first time that the caps weren't always perfectly aligned on the top of the bottle either. I had to take a couple of tries on one.

This event doubly sucked because there were only 8 bottles total - a 1-gallon batch, and I had to toss out 12.5% of my beer!

I know, I know, brew bigger batches - I'm working on returning to them, but in the mean time I'm gonna order me a "proper" capper. :)
