I bought my stuff from this guy on eBay. This stuff is just one example of a kit he offers.

tom hargrave or however you spell it? yea hes a great guy. real up front, and will make sure you get the stuff you need. A little on the slow side, Im nto sure if he has employees or not, but it will get there.

as for the standard in and out, a standard barb uses friction and a clamp to secure the lines. the flared uses a threaded fitting to attach hoses.

What are the differences between the "standard" in and out-locks and the flared versions?

Barbs - uses hose clamp to connect hose directly to barb.
Flared - hose clamp connects to this:

and that screws into the flared ball connector

Flared makes it easier to remove hose and clean IMO. But it does add a few extra $ to the setup.

I have started the process to switch to all flared.

That's the one. Southeastern kinda slow... not hurried like the rest of us. I don't think he has employees. Seemed like he just arranges the kits and deals with a warehouse who ships the stuff to you when he places the order. He had no problem with me adding/subtracting things from the standard kit to fit my needs and the prices are based on the objects, not the package.

Cheese - go with the flared fittings if you can. It's a lot easier to deal with if you get beer in an air line and need to clean it out.
