Don't forget Real Ale. They are so consistently good that I tend to leave them out as well. 4 squared is great, Mysterium Verum stuff is outstanding. ABW as well. H&G Zoe.

How the **** did I forget Real Ale?

I've named them my favorite Texas brewery in multiple published things, multiple times. I go out of my way to find their stuff and recommend everything they make to everyone. (Btw, just tried Coffissar and it's awesome.)

I need to do some kind of penance. I'm ashamed.

RA is my overall favorite Texas brewery as well - and hope I can continue to say that, I understand Erik left while I fell off the beer grid the last few months.

Unless I'm told to do so, hate to admit I'm not much for going out of my way to try anything new lately since there's just so much stuff. Hmm, I'm not impressed with Blue Owl. Mixed on Brash, though leaning positive but not overwhelmingly so.

Here's some other locals which received praise from my trade partners: growlers of just about anything from Peticolas (especially Sit Down or Wintervention), Strange Land Atholl Brose, Lakewood Temptress and it's variants.

Consequence of leaving the greatest state in the world. Real Ale is for Texans and our trade partners.

Zilker Marco IPA is really really ******* good. Why haven't I picked this up till now? Dur.

Real Ale? Man... I really like Four Squared and their Mysterium Verum, but I could take or leave their IPA and Pale Ale offerings. *shrug* I will say that all their 750ML options have been quite nice. That Commissar is amongst my favorite Texas-made RISes.

Three Lions didn't do it for you? Man, I thought it was seriously good.

I really enjoy full moon from their standard like up.

Out of season now for Staycation

I think.

Which is a 100% bummer. I crushed several 12 packs.

Collective Brewing Project in Ft Worth makes only sours & saisons. Petite Golden Sour is excellent, and their fruited variants are legitimately hype-worthy. Guessing they don't have much fanfare because they've only done one brewery-only release (a sour red that was okay) and only recently started bottling. I send growlers to my trading partners, who have nothing but great things to say about them. Definitely recommend checking them out.

But you're right: the vast majority of TX beers can't compete on quality with the beers from other regions that trade above $4$. We don't have many breweries making the "hype" styles, and there are even fewer brewery-only releases. We'll get there someday, but until then, TX traders' ability to acquire anything other than $4$ beers from other regions is stunted.
Thank you for this name drop. We're planning a trip to DFW to visit my wife's sister and this brewery seems right up my alley.

Any of you experienced any overcarb issues with Meta Modern cans? I picked up a sixer in Dallas a couple days ago, and just cracked the first one to a massive foam party.

This is my first time trying it. So bummed.

Not at all, its actually usually more on the undercarbed side to me (I think that's just what Oasis is going for but I wish it was a bit more carbonated personally).

Just drive to a central meeting point and pour your 6-packs together.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

Heading to Houston for a quick Friday night - Sunday night Final Four visit. Can anyone recommend a good spot for late dinners Friday and Saturday night?

Headed to Kenny and Ziggy's for Saturday lunch.

Houston is a crazy good food town, so with no specifics of what type of food you want... here's my suggestions based on the idea that you're in town for the Final Four and won't want to travel too far from there:

Mala Sichuan Montrose (closes 9:45pm), Brennan's (10pm), Vic & Anthony's (11pm), El Tiempo 1308 Annex (11pm), Max's Wine Dive Fairview (2am)

Thanks very much!! Bummed I won't be in town longer as I would have liked to do some TB tip-touching.
