I wonder if there are batch variations? I tried Gold Wax bomb and was very impressed with the malt character on it.

No. The wax isn't any indicator. Even the Prairie guys said don't worry about the wax color since multiple colors went out with a single batch. And it's one of if not the finest non-BA stouts out there. And as far as your trade, it depends what you gave up for it.

Also, you'd be a fool to age FBS. The coffee just disappears and that's what makes it so glorious.

Yeah the only thing it was good for was for a larger trade audience and the fact that I had some conversations it would have been nice to have kept. I'll find ways to get back into contact with those people if I have to. No worries.

Odd you ask this... my first glass wasn't good, but my second was quite tasty.

I had it pretty late to be honest, towards the end of the festival. It was so damn good!

Early on there was a mistake with what was actually being poured. I think a case or two of another beer was poured before it was caught by someone. If you got one of the earlier servings it's likely you didn't actually have O&P.

This might explain a lot of the comments and my own feelings about this beer.

Seemed like the early pour (around 1:30-2:00 time frame) was a different beer than the one at 5:30 or so. One that in my opinion was clearly inferior. My first rating was a 3.5 and the second was a 4.5 (probably more of a 4.25, but I bumped it up).

I really am glad I got that second taste because it was a whole new animal.
