Today I loaded up my kegerator and brought it to my cousin's garlic party. No garlic beer of course... However, I had my hefeweizen and barleywine on tap. As I kicked back and enjoyed the food with a cold brew. I watched as people returned to the taps for refills. Soon compliments followed. I was amazed and do not think I would have had the same out come if I had showed up with a cooler full of bottles.
It was just a really nice feeling. I made something that others enjoyed.

Thought I would share. Anyone with similar results?

I'm providing home brew for a family gathering tomorrow. Not sure how many people will be there, but I hope to have enough to keep people happy. There will be a decent range of brews to pick from too. Of course, I'll be the one pouring from the bottles, to make sure it's done right.

I do plan on bringing kegs to future family gatherings. As long as I know far enough ahead, I should have at least one, if not two, kegs of quality home brew ready for enjoying. I should probably find out if there are any requests for the coming "Polish Day"... It will be here soon enough (in the fall)...

There is something about beer pouring from a tap that says we have beer in a way that bottles just don't. When I pour one out of my tap it feels like an endless fountain of magic beer... even though I know how much is behind it in the keg. To people at your party the tap represents something akin to a champagne fountain. Endless flowing beer. And that makes people happy. Not to mention being delicious. :) mmmm beer

Finally kegged my first batch 10 or so days ago. Need the temp controlled keezer as a fermentation chamber until summer is over (2 batches in it, and another going in next next weekend), but can't wait to pour from the perlick. Nobody has complained about the bottles yet, but I'm glad to be done with the bottling bucket, and now I have an extra fermentor :D

Think I did my last full-batch bottling today...5 gallons of Saison + 2 empty cases + 1 pretty f***ed up back = bad times. Honestly can't wait to get a kegerator & some cornies going full-tilt...
