Hey SD folks. Have a non-beer question that I was hoping someone might be able to help out with:

My wife and I have a friend in the hospital in La Jolla and we were hoping to send her a gift basket of some kind (maybe with a bottle of wine, some snacks etc.). Does anyone happen to know of a place down there that might do something like that (and deliver it)?

Asked my wife as she is big gift giver, especially if someone is in the hospital, and she suggested calling (or checking if they have a website) the gift shop at the hospital. Though they might not have wine.

Traffic school just keeps it off your record so your insurance doesn't bend you over further. Pay the ticket then pay the extortion of traffic school. Which now you can now do online while drinking.
Last time I did traffic school I was able to waive the ticket fee - or pay a minimal $20 fee or something. Shrug - been too long.

The CHP exists to generate revenue for the state - full stop.
Sorry, lets get back on topic. Ghost Train is like version two of Hedge Witch, which was my favorite can from MT this year. Two of these will get you nice and toasty.
I'm a simple man. I see Hedge Witch, I approve.

Also need some of that HPB collabo-magic too.

Ticket cost + traffic school cost = $$$$$$$$
Paying for a lawyer to get it dismissed = potentially half as much money
So long as it wasn't a DUI. What did you do where a lawyer should be involved? I've had 2 spending tickets in CA. 1 I earned and 1 was a case of the One-Armed Man and I got a ticket for some other *******'s speeding.

How fast were you going?

Ticket was for 90 in a 65. No way I was going 90 in my rickety-ass ****** Honda Fit, but whatever. That's a $500 ticket, plus it's on your record, plus points. You can pay a lawyer $200-ish to get it dismissed usually, but it depends. So we'll see.

To keep it on topic... BA Maple Monsters Park is pretty good. I think it sounds a lot better than it actually is - any sweeter would be too sweet.

Your excuse: IBS and you had to poop. Doctors orders.

The keg they did at the Carnival of Caffeination that also had coffee was markedly better. Another adjunct - specifically one that brings bitterness - seemed to help provide balance and allow the maple character to shine more as flavor than sweetness. Still a good beer but I'm excited to see bottles of maple/coffee for the ToLC next year.

I'd like to see a Nitro DT with Maple Coffee on nitro...
