Name five SD breweries that absolutely will and absolutely won't use that INDE PEN DENT craft beer badge.
WILL:
- Modern Times
- Stone

That's all I've got, there are a lot of other breweries that probably will, but none that I'd say are absolute either due to the cost of resubmitting all of their labels for approval or because they don't want to risk having to take it back off their packaging due to a change in ownership.

WON'T - I dunno, I just wish we still had Pat's email newsletter because I'm sure he'd have some colorful thoughts on it. Interesting idea, ****** execution on a number of levels.

WILL -
Modern Times
Mother Earth
Duckfoot
Resident
North Park BeerCo

WONT -
Alesmith
PizzaPort
Societe
Stone
New English

Obviously there are a couple in here that rarely put out bottles, but they did make mention of it being on tap handles as well, so I am taking that into consideration.

I see Stone, MT, Pizza Port (with their stong current guild ties), Mother Earth, and the guys who did the 11 Barrel IPA

I don't see AleSmith, Green Flash, Karl, Lost Abby doing it for possible ownership change.

Any of the younger breweries won't bother.

Seriously? That's ******* stupid, I'd be surprised if it will even be visible on your average tap handle under optimal circumstances, let alone in a dimly lit bar where tap handles are set back six feet or more.

I overheard it and thought, naww...I must be tired, he didn't just say that. So went back and made sure what I heard was legit.

Ah good, I got the timestamp pretty much on target.

Paging rcubed ....

Horus Aged Ales. What's the 411?
Don't be frontin', you DannyFullpint, you... We got Horus on lock for the next Woodshop already. You bes'n't be swoopin in for some #TFP10 Horus action and stealing the thunder....

But forreals, the collaboration with Pizza Port, Friendly Roast (on tap now at PP-Carlsbad) is super legit. I'm sure other beers out there are too. Kyle is an old school beer nerd who is pulling some boss moves and following his dream. To be honest, I haven't tasted much beer from him, but he's as plugged in to the beer world as anyone, and he's a great guy and a sharp cookie.

He's trying to carve out some kind of niche with barrel-aging, barrel-fermenting, and blending beers, and I think he's going to figure out a really cool angle for some delicious beers. He has a line on some really wonderful barrels, and I'm quite sure they won't be put exclusively to use on mixed-fermentation stuff. But there will mos def be some of that.

Full disclosure: I gave Kyle some Masumoto fruit this year. So you can take this whole endorsement with a grain of salt, or disregard it because you think I have a "vested interest" or whatever. I like to think of it like I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I'm really excited to see what kind of beers Horus comes up with in the coming years. I think it's going to be a fun ride. Crossing fingers.

FAKE EDIT: If DannyFullpint wants to serve some Horus stuff at TFP10, I am totally cool with that. I'll be there drinkin it! Who am I to keep a man from his beloved beers?

Next woodshop? Quit teasing us like that.....

We got an email from them today :) Never heard of them so wanted to see if they had cred.

I say save it for Woodshop!

Boss Tycoon was enjoyable, but it would be difficult to drink any more than a few ounces.

As far as adjunct heavy, high ABV Imperial Stouts go, I enjoyed Boss Tycoon much more than Big Poppa b2.

Somehow the use of the badge makes the breweries seem less independent to me...

For all the gaming nerds out there....

Happy 17th birthday Diablo2. While you sucked when first released, the Lords of Destruction expansion helped me skip many college courses and waste away a good chunk of my "golden years".

Edit: And still makes me waste away my life when a ladder reset occurs.

Yeaaaah. Good time for them to release the necro in D3 (and I just hit 70 on hardcore like 30 minutes ago too)

I dropped D3 when they nerfed Diablo the first time. It just wasn't a challenge for me anymore. I have occasionally logged in to check out new features but after about an hour I quickly remember why I dropped it.

It's all about rifts now. It's no better or worse than Baal runs, but more convenient.

Screw that - how many Cable Cars do you think it'll take to land a SNES Classic?
