Ever brew a beer that was damn good and when you went to brew it again at a later time you realize that you lost the recipe.....

I brewed a Simcoe IPA about a 6mo ago. Prolly one of the best brews I have ever had. Went to go brew it again a few days ago.... Turns out I lost the recipe. So now I have spent 3 days searching for it on the internet. It was a extract recipe. So... Hope all lost, I gave up.

I grabbed my How to Brew book from Palmer to read up on batch vs fly sparging. I had been using random pieces of paper as book marks. Half way through the book, Lo and behold the receipt from the LHBS for my IPA. Fargin' sweet!!!!

Now the only thing I have to figure out is the hop timing.

Hop timing looks good to me... :)

I have brewed stuff on the fly (Never recording recipe or taking notes) before that turned out great. I wish I had a couple of those recipes...

My old brewing buddy kept the records. After he died, I decided to make some Stiffy in memorial. Found out that he only recorded the grain bills, nothing about hops or mashing! Had to wing it. Wasn't too hard to get close, as Stiffy is basically a big Scottish Ale with Left Coast IPA hopping.

Just not the same without Guzzleboy at the tap.
