OK, time for my serious confession:
I havent brewed in since May.
Yah, I know, I suck.
After a year or so of extract brewing, I was able to do 2 AG batches with a guy whos been brewing since Carter. Batch sizes were 35 and 45 gallons, one Newcastlle style, the other Kaisers Alt. (check out my gallery) The castle was OK, the alt is/was brilliant.
My extract efforts have always had the twang. After brewing and drinking the AG, Ive had a hard time convincing myself to do another extract batch in my kitchen. My pal with the AG gear doesnt brew so much and I cant justify the $$ for my own set up right now.
There is hope on the horizon. Another buddy, whose father made killer grappa, now has the bug. Ill take credit for giving him the bug. He slurped down many bottles of my SNPA clone efforts which, for extract, werent bad.
So, maybe in a month or so, well pool our resources for the AG gear.
There it is; my confession.

Fortunately, I had a stockpile of previous efforts and I dont drink so much at home. Unfortunately, Im polishing off the last corny of alt tonight. Theres nothing else left.
I guess I need to suck it up and do another extract batch. Maybe something crazy, like an espresso stout?
