Hey guys, so I’m in the market for a new fermenter. I’m wanting to step up my game in my fermentation world regarding temp control. So here’s my options:
Buy SS Brewtech 14 gallon for $400 plus another $260 for their immersion cooler attachments.
Or I buy this new 14 gallon Vevor stainless fermenter for $330. My fermentation room is about 8’x10’ that I can put a window unit in and override the thermostat to get down to lagering temps if necessary but definitely a consistent 65-75 degrees for fermentation.
So do I spend the money on the SS Brewtech and get the real fancy temp controller or just go the less expensive route.

Thoughts?

Here’s the vevor link: VEVOR 14 Gallon Stainless Steel Brew Fermenter Home Brewing Brew Bucket Fermenter With conical base Brewing Equipment https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MMRF9MD/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

FYI you can put the SSB Brew Bucket in your fermentation room and avoid spending $260 for the immersion cooler just as well.
As far as comparing the SSB and the Velvor, they're both not true conicals so basically no difference there. I find the use of a brass valve in the Velvor rather questionable as a stainless valve would cost just a couple of bucks more. Of course you can replace it right away but one wonders why they felt the need to reduce cost in such a questionable way.
