Does anyone know of a reasonably priced 120 volt temp controller that has the ability to program a temp schedule? Like if you wanted to preset the temp setting to change after a few days or hours or whatever

Several of these from Kegland will do what I think you want. Look at the MK II and the RAPT Temp controller.

https://www.kegland.com.au/collections/temperature-voltage-controllers

I don't do lagers or have the need to vary my temps during fermentation. So I've no experience with them. But this might give you some stuff to look at while waiting for the response of others that do use similar.

Morebeer is selling the MK II controller - for 75USD. Considering it sells in Australia for only 49AUD - which today is under 33USD - Morebeer is really flogging the customer. Too bad. At that price one might consider the Rapt Digital Temperature Controller which is on sale for 75USD (it's 100AUD which would be just under 67USD today - so I guess that makes this offer a "bargain" in Morebeer terms).

fwiw, BrewPi "classic" and probably all its derivatives can do "profiles"...

Cheers!

I won't slam MoreBeer for the higher price. For items I couldn't sell frequently enough I'd put a higher price on too. And it's too easy to find better deals no matter where you are.

Though I have know idea how reputable this place is. I just found it now.
Williams is good you can trust them. They’ve been in the game along time and I use them from time to time, ever once in a while they have some good deals. Probably just me but I’ve always thought their website was kinda strange or something😊

So you all believe the MKII can do what I’m looking for possibly? I tried to look at the various Inkbirds and found a few I thought would be multi day multi day programmable, but in the description it wasn’t clear if it had this capability or not.

You can download and read the manuals for them. If William's doesn't have the link to the manual, then find the manufacture's site or a vendor site that includes the link.

Don't know about the MK II, but I think the Rapt temperature controller will have a cloud interface to allow you to see and change settings from a browser on your phone or a computer even while away from home or away from where the FV is located. They have a RaptPill too which is a hydrometer and temp device that floats inside your FV. So you can also see what your SG and actual beer temp is. And likely that tempsensor on it can provide the temp signal for the controller if desired.

But I'm only guessing mostly. I read about Keglands Rapt products casually a few years ago. Since I don't have the need, I didn't look at the details. But Keglands website has a lot of info if you look for it.

I do have and use a RaptPill. I had to get my RaptPill from AliExpress as no one was selling it in the USA at the time. Might be the same for some of their other products.

fwiw, the MKII is programmed directly at the unit while the Rapt controller requires web access and an account with the Rapt portal - it cannot be programmed locally. The MKII "sequential profile" granularity is practically one day per entry with up to 12 sequential temperature entries available. From this it appears programmed sequences are limited to 12 days total run time. MKII instructions are attached...

Cheers!

The Rapt controller is pretty sweet.
Yeah I’ve wanted one for a while but just about the time I decide to go for it, I chicken out. I’m afraid it might not work well for me because my fermenter is stainless inside a freezer that’s inside my metal building that’s 50 yards from the house that has the Wi-Fi.

Like I described above I chickened out on the rapt and decided to play it safe and ordered the mkII 😊

For clarity, the Rapt controller doesn't rely on wireless connectivity unless you're thinking of the Pill. The Rapt is just a very functional "inkbird" type controller that has better automation and a color screen.

My mistake I was thinking of the pill. I feel like the mkII will do the job probably but I will report back in the future. I got it for $44 at Williams.

fwiw, as this thread started with the desire for temperature "scheduling" aka "profiles", from the Rapt Controller manual:

"Note: You can not make a Temperature Profile on the RAPT Temperature Controller itself. It mustbe made and started from the RAPT Portal first and then it will be automatically stored on thedevice to be started manually in the future."

Cheers!
