So, technically isn't a homebrew question, since I need this info for a restaurant where I manage, but I think it's relevant nonetheless. At our bar, we run 20 different drafts at all times, which means that we are frequently changing kegs. Some of our bartenders are big, muscular guys and some tiny, petite women. The problem is, despite showing them all the proper technique for tapping a keg, our bigger guys tend to over-tighten the tap which means that our smaller bartenders are unable to get the tap off when the time comes to change kegs. I have personally bruised my hand trying to twist off some of these taps that have been cranked on way too tight and often have to resort to using a rubber mallet to coax them off.

My question is, does anyone make a product for lubricating the threads of the keg/tap to prevent them from locking up like this when they are put on by an overzealous muscle-head? Any suggestions at all would be awesome!

Jeeze, I'd think pretty much anything slippery would work, but I s'pose you'd want something GRAS, so how about food-grade silicone spray?
