I've always been intrigued with the notion of surviving 'dismal times'. And making beer from scratch with minimal equipment, home-grown and scrounged ingredients is right up that alley.

So, here's the scenerio: Iran and North Korea pop two coordinated EMP nukes launched from ships off shore over our beloved country. Any electronic gizmo that was on at the time is toast. Nothing works, no TV, phone service, radio, grid, internet and the economy comes to a screeching halt.

The 'Underground Economy' surfaces and barter is the 'name-of-the-game'. And your neighbor says he wished he had a beer right now.

Take it from here.................

So you've read One Second After too? Since that's the basic plot, except that none of the 'survivors' are allowed to make homebrew, as all grains and sugars are used for food.
