I was out at a work meeting the week before last, and we enjoyed lots of craft beer, 6 or so a night. I am usually a 1-3 beer guy, except for a few times a year when I am celebrating, or at GABF.
Last week, I knew I had a lipid panel scheduled, so I didn't drink after the meeting drinking binge. Lipid panel was fine, but my surprise liver test was very high.
SURPRISE when you drink 18 beers in 3 days, and have a liver test a week later, your liver doesn't like it and is rather inflamed.
Took me awhile on the internet to figure this is what it was, my Dr. isn't particularly communicative, a bit of a Dr. Ratched. (think I am going to switch Drs.)
I am sure the follow up test will be fine, not worried about it. I've been tracking my calories on the LiveStrong app, exercising, and shedding some of the 25 lbs. I have as a personal weight loss goal. I WILL be a healthy weight in 2014, for the first time in decades.
I don't like these kinds of surprises!
