One of my five gallons (from the same batch) has started to look rather strange while its fermenting. Its moving around very fast, kicking up a lot of debris from the bottom and there are some small light tan colored dots sitting on top of the beer.

Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

Ya you are fine. It's probably just yeast that is getting kicked around and that could be sediment that it is kicking around as well. Just sounds like you have a strong fermentation. If you feel the carboy it should be warm.

If you can monitor the temp I would just so it doesn't go crazy hot.

Highly flocculant yeast at a very active stage. RDWHAHB.
