Stout bottling question

I'm making a clone of Mackeson XXX Stout (from the Clone Brews book), and it says bottle with:

2/3 cup corn sugar
2 oz. lactose

Does that mean both, or is it either/or?

Both. Lactose won't ferment, so if you leave out the corn sugar, you will have flat beer.

Agreed. The Lactose is there to backsweeten and add a little body. The corn sugar is there for the carbonation.
