Newb looking for help.
So i am new to brewing and wait straght to kegging as to not deal with the pain n the ass of bottling. But i don't want to run of of one keg and not have another keg carbed and ready to go. So if i want to store my next batch n a keg, do i force carb it and then let it sit, Or just get all the O2 out and not fully force carb it? Also how long can i store in a keg? Is it like a bottle and i can let a keg sit for say 6 months?

Thanks

It is like a bottle. If you are good about purging with CO2 you won't have any problem at all. You don't need to force carb before storage, but make sure you've gotten all the air out by pushing some CO2 in there.

I.e., before you transfer beer into the keg, fill it with CO2 (pull the relief valve or open the bale, connect the CO2, run for 5 seconds). Then, transfer the beer, then purge the airspace above the beer with CO2 again. At this point, you can store at room temp for a while. I almost always force carb first anyway though.
