Just went to the store and bought a kit with some extra hops and yeast by advising of the store owner, cool guy. But I forgot to ask him whether or not I should keep the hops and the yeast in the fridge or not until I use them tomorrow. Any suggestions?

The yeast should stay in the fridge until you start brewing. For one day, it doesn't matter if you keep your hops in the fridge, in the freezer, or on the counter. You may as well stick 'em next to your yeast in the fridge, or easy location. For longer storage, keep your hops in the freezer.
