Okay,

I'm pretty new at this, but I want to get started on a Christmas Ale now so it'll be ready for the season. I went right to kegging, so I don't have any botttles. I want to know if I should/can store beer for 5-6 months while it ages in either growlers or a corny keg. I do not want to get individual bottles, so I think those are my only 2 options at this point.

TIA,

Eric

Unless you have fliptop growlers, keg it. Screwtops cannot be sealed well enough to hold pressure for more than couple days.

How long is it okay to leave beer in the keg for? It looks like it's going to take 6 mos to be drinkable.

Thanks again,

Eric

I have a barleywine that was made in Oct. 2003. I'm still drinking it. Keep it cool and it will survive.
