OK maybe I am seeing what I an asking. Flask issue, am using a nice large flower glass. Flat bottom, but hour glass figure. Can not get good 2 liter mix. Bro elm the plate or flask or stir plate?

I don't really understand the question, but I'm assuming you are having trouble getting a vortex in an hourglass shaped vase?

I would say don't worry about it too much, as long as you're keeping the yeast in suspension. Or get a 2 liter flask.

Was trying to save $$. Figured any glass would do, but an having trouble with 2 liter size. Not enough vortex. So, wrong size flask(flowerpot)? Or stir bar? A willing to spend bucks when there is a diff. Please remember we are learning and dumb?

yep, got it.

As long as the yeast stay in suspension, it's fine. The vortex is preferred, but not needed. The important thing is that the yeast don't settle at the bottom.

Otherwise you could try a larger stir bar.

I use a 1 gallon jug and it works great, vortex and all. I agree, vortex isn't required by any means, but if it bothers you, try that assuming your surface is large enough to hold a 1 gallon jug.

If you have a LHBS, they sell them for $5 each I think, much cheaper than a flask. If you don't have easy access to a LHBS or don't want to spend the money, just go to your local Walmart/grocery/etc store and look for an adequate sized glass and maybe you can get it for cheaper? Otherwise, a used Vodka or Rum bottle?

Hope this helps.
