I am building my first temp controller for a keezer and wondering if there is any advice on its use once it's built. Any best or worse case scenario. I realize it's just a controller, but I am sure there have been mistakes made in its use. Maybe not? Maybe things you would have done differently. I will be using it in an igloo 5.2 with 6" collar, 1 pie fan to begin with and a dehumidifier.

Thanks

Check out the stc1000+ thread on here it has many uses available. The only recommendation I would make is to ensure you break the connector tab on the one side of the outlet you are hooking hot and cold terminals to. Otherwise when either cycle is powered it will power the other also. And remember there is a 5min(I believe) delay when you plug it in and turn on before it will actively heat or cool so don't panic and think yours is broken.

I just built a second STC control box last night for a 5 cubic foot chest freezer I bought for a fementation chamber. I got a GFCI outlet for it and wasnt really thinking that you couldn't split the outlets so I had to leave the heat side disconnected. Will be ok since i can switch this to my keezer whixh has a properly wired STC with heat and cold. So one don't is, don't buy a GFCI outlet if you want both heat and cold outlets.

An important do, do tell your family not to knock the temperature probe out of the freezer or tape it down. Something I didn't do and ended up with several six packs of frozen beer. Thank God I didn't have any kegs up at the time.

I keep it submersed in a cup of water in the well for my keezer, but i put it on the hump in the new 5 cubic foot fermwntation chamber.
