Looking for a brew supply store NOT in California that has free shipping. Anyone familiar with one? Just trying to avoid the extra expense of taxes.. money I can use to buy some of the accy's for the unit. When I was researching this thing about a month ago, I THOUGHT I saw a place in VT that had free shipping.. but, can't find it now.. or, for that matter, any place outside of CA that has free shipping.

Looks like a great conical, especially with the FTS setup.

You might check the SS Brewtech website. I don't recall having to pay for shipping.

:mug:

Also its a heck of a deal for a fermenter that has Tri-clover fittings on it with 3 piece ball valves included... The only thing I would probably want to do is upgrade the valves to 3 piece non-threaded Triclover valves, that way it would be a much more sanitary fitting with not grooves for nasties to hide in. The rotating racking arm is also very nice as well. Stout Tank makes a larger diameter one, but that would work just fine.

For me It would be SS edges out Spike Brewing by a nose because its nearly identical and larger capacity, for almost 200 less.

Yah, both of those companies are in So Cal.. I'll probably have to bite the bullet.. Looking to go the full monte.. 7g Chronical, FTS, drop tubes for smaller batches and blow off elbow.

I'm saving up & waiting for the 14 gallons ones to be available. Does anyone know when these will be shipping?

Hopsong, I'm in Windsor, CA. A friend is opening up a new brewery on Aviation Court in a few months called Cooperage Brewing.

Wierd... They must ship out of Texas from a warehouse and run the finance end out of Moorepark, CA.

Sorry I assumed based on their shipping map.

I ordered through SS's website. For the same price I figured why give the middle man a cut?

They are very responsive, will let you know when the next batch is expected and often times toss in a freebie piece of swag.

Because this is Merica' and everyone needs to make a living. Next question! Lol

Yep, wonputt.. Tyler is great.. I wish him a ton of success. I help out at Fogbelt in SR a bit.

I just pulled the trigger on the 14 gal Chronical fermenter and the FTSs temperature control. :ban: The price is fair, but I did have to pay state tax. Cant wait to get it set up.

if the expense was such an obstacle why not just order a 12.5 galllon stout conical? they are made of heavier gauge polished 304 stainless and also have all the triclamp fittings along with ballvalves with no threads for under $400 shipped? I love mine. The SS ones are nice too but cost more and the lid can be a real bear to get off after brewing.... they both come from china so thats not a factor.
I use a chiller and "Coolzone" cooling jacket http://www.gotta-brew.com/products/cool-zone-cooling-jacket.html to keep my fermenter cool. they are $60 vs the $250? for the FTS and make cleanup waay easier. I dont understand why more people arent using them.

Just some alternatives for people who are looking.

I'm also looking to pick one of these up sometime over the next couple months. If you do pull the trigger, I'd love to hear how you like it! It fits the budget and (most importantly) it'll fit in my ferm chamber.
