I live in Ohio just west of Cleveland. I just planned 3 Nugget rhizomes on May 25. I know it was late but I moved here from the desert on May 25 so they were in the ground as soon as I could.
June 2 I saw the first sprout pop up. June 3 a squirrel dug up the sprout. I also found 4 other sprouts in the pot that the bugger broke off.
I implemented some anti-squirrel stuff so I don't think it will be a problem again.
My question is, what are the chances of survival for my plants? Do you think they can bounce back?

I think they will survive.
Might not actually get a harvest but i think they will grow back.

PS I am a terrible gardener and this is based on a hunch

The squirrels or the hops?
I have a great recipe for fried squirrel!

Is there a recipe for squirrel beer.

How about:

Lol i have two squirrels that live in one of my trees. They insist on digging around one of my cascades. Not any of the others, no.. these guys are clearly obsessed with one specific plant, they visit my plant at least twice a week. Maybe ill just cut that tree down, let in some more sunlight back there.

But in any case this has been going on for like a month and the cascade is still kicking... not the healthiest looking in the group.... but what doesnt kill you makes you stronger right?
