I thought I read something SpaceX was awarded a contract to build a space debris garbage ship to cleanup space junk. Never heard anything more on that.

I've been forgetting to post the recent viewable Space X launches. Here's last nights. Once the first stage shuts down, you don't see much anymore.

Flashing red/blue lights were from the end of a drunk driving accident that ended in from of my house with 4 police cars, 1 fire truck, and one paramedics van. No one hurt, but 3 destroyed vehicles.

Unfortunately the two days waning moon is going to hinder observation but the brightest meteors could shine through...

I think the orionids peak during the new moon phase this year, not as good as the perseids but a clear night and new moon make for best conditions.

This summer has been very cool in my area and it's usually overcast (marine layer) by 10:00pm Haven't had much luck seeing anything late in the evening.

I'm hopeful those of us with obscured skies tonight will be able to view something worth watching at the site I linked above.
