Just decided to put in an order and jump into this new hobby (which will probably wind up being as expensive as my cigar/pipe hobby) - just wondering if I got everything I need to make 5 gallon batches or if I forgot something:

- 10 Gallon MegaPot w/ ball valve

- Black IPA Extract Kit w/ Specialty Grains

- 6.5 Gallon Fermenting Bucket

- Grommeted Lid For 6.5 Gallon Bucket

- Three-Piece Airlock

- 6.5 Gallon Bottling Bucket

- Bottling Spigot for bottling bucket

- 1000 ml Yeast Starter Kit

- "Bayou Classic SP10 High-Pressure Outdoor Gas Cooker, Propane"

- "3/8" x 50' Copper Wort Chiller"

- Beer Bottles 12 oz. x 24

- Plain Gold Crown Caps - 144 count

auto siphon, thermometer, cleaning supplies (bottle brush, star san, etc)

More bottles! 24 won't cut it for a 5gallon batch. At least another case. I've gotten 52 bottles out of one before. The autosiphon is a good one. A bottling wand is a good investment also.

I like to put the adhesive temperature strips on my fermentation buckets.
Bottle tree comes in real handy on bottling day too.

I need to get some of those too.

I made my own "bottle tree" (more like a rack). I had some spare plywood, so I drilled some holes. I use one of those Sterelite containers to catch the drips.

Not the most elegant thing, but it works for me.

I agree with all of the above.

The fermenting bucket should come with a grometed lid.
The bottling bucket should come with a spigot.
If you use dry yeast, you won't need the yeast starter kit.
If you use liquid yeast, I would upgrade the yeast starter kit to 2 liters, or make your own with a growler.
depending on how much homebrew you drink, you may need an extra fermenting bucket and bottles to avoid running out of beer.
