Thanks to you b'ds rambling on I picked up three bottles of Snowbound, one will be cracked later this afternoon after I get through a few Weizenbocks. :)

Then I'll no doubt be :drunk: rambling later...:cross:

I think I'm druk.....I had one of mybeers with lunch, then decided to try the snowbound...

It's an awesome beer btw...dryer and lighter in body than I thought it would be, but phenominally spicy and full flavored...

but now it is kicking my butt...lt kinda creped up on me...:drunk:

I reviewed it here...https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f119/snow-bound-winter-ale-93795/

I'm supposed to go across the street to the hockey game tonight...any bets on whether I make it...especially since I want more beer...

Damn, I want a stout right now though....and I don't have any in my horde....

Sounds like a good time for a trip to the liquer store... My roomates and I just got back with a thrown together sampler of barleywines. We are in Milwaukee and the news this morning said 13inches of snow in 7 hours. We have been blocked in our driveways since 8am due to that damn bus that had to get stuck in front of our house. It is a good thing we only had to walk 3 blocks though. We even brought one back for the bus driver!

You mean other than the Yeti? ;)

@Sacch, DO IT. The SnowBound is top notch. I would call it an Ameri-Belgian Winter Warmer. It's far dryer than all these cloyingly sweet holiday spiced brown ales we normally see.

Nice day to be home, Revvy. Kids had a snow day, and I grabbed a vacation day and did a bit of shopping, then home to brew that barleywine I have been meaning to brew for a couple of months. I've had a few while brewing, and this seems to be my best batch yet ( as far as process goes...)

And, I guess being a bit tipsy actually makes my type better!! WoW!

Ok, yeast is rehydrating, time to cool that bitch down!!

I'm a try that snowbound. Looks good!

Sweet. I hate those sweet brown ales. Lagunitas Brown Sugga, which I just had my second... OTOH... THAT's da sh**. :) That's what a brown ale should aspire to be. An IPA kicked up to 9.5% ABV with brown sugar. What's not to love.

OK OK time to pour the SnowBound. Thankfully dinner is already on so SWMBO will be pleased, even if she has to carry me up stairs to bed. :drunk: :D

OK the Snowbound is a very good spiced beer, my favorite of the spiced ones so far, in fact. I think I'll let the other 2 bottles I bought cellar until next year, once the spices mellow out I think this beer will be even better.

LOL :drunk: is right, these Winter warmters including my double Porter on tap in the garage I haven't druck yet are :drunk: over the top :ban:

Dude. The Nestle brand? it's all about Ibarra!

Wow is it just me or did they put sleeping pills in this beer?? Srsly. SRSLY! :drunk:

Starting on some Old Bog Water 2003. Finished the second dog walk a bit ago. I'm amazed how fatiguing being dragged around by the greys can be with 6-8 inches of snow (with ice under it). A constant battle to remain upright. Walking up a 15% slope makes it worse. My legs hurt. Blasted dogs have four feet and claws!

Alcohol is an excellent muscle relaxant.

Yeah 'only' 8.5% whereas my Christmas beer is 10.5%, yet the Snowbound kicked my @$$. It must be the good drugz in it d00d... the gooood sh*t! ;)

I think there is a little bit left in the bottle this morning though I can't remember now :drunk: so I might have to finish it off for breakfast. Yum!

Yeah, it's a strong "only" 8%. I believe I'll be buying 2 or 3 more bottles while I'm out getting sidewalk salt today. SWMBO was a fan of it. And that is rare in itself!

I went to a hockey game last night, had one bmccrap there then came home and went to bed, I slept over 10 hours, without having to get up repeatedly to go to the bathroom...I'd have to say methinks the ginger is a nice mellowing agent.
