SMELLY Apfelwein

As the title says I have a smelly batch of Apfelwein... really smelly... its not a sour smell its like a rotting smell... SWMBO is getting pretty ticked about it.. I sanitized everything with starsan, have vodka in the airlock.... I dont know what it could be... the smelly one is on the right... been in the carboy for about a week... the one on the left is at 2 weeks and smells very good... Any ideas??? am I paranoid??? I know when things ferment they may not always smell the best but this is bad... I used motts apple juice...

Yep...The apfelwien rhinofarts are legendary...they will dissapate in awhile.

mine is at like 4 weeks and it doesnt smell at all anymore....but man it did! id walk into my little apartment and puke a little each time i think

i had a few batches going in one of my guest rooms, the entire house ended up smelling. i really felt sorry for the people that ended up staying in that room last minute. mine only smelled for about 4-5 days.

Naaaa... if it doesn't smell like rhino pharts, it aint apfelwein!
